Montban Chapel
/ 2023 – Identity & Web Design of Montban Chapel – Web Development by hemmer.ch
What the client needed
On the occasion of the magnificent renovation of the Chapelle de Montban, I was asked to create a visual identity, a web design of Montban Chapel and various communications media designed to disseminate information about the renovation of this historic building to visitors to the commune, walkers, schools and believers. The client wanted to highlight the historic building and its legend based on the apparition of the Virgin Mary. The building still contains a relic in the form of a statuette, originally preserved in the hollow of a miraculous hundred-year-old oak tree. The chapel is now built on the site of this oak.
The platform was designed to provide access to an audio-guide, which guides visitors through the site and tells them the wonderful story of Marie de Montban.
My part of the project
After a day of photographing the site, I was inspired by the lushness of the surroundings to set the chapel in a green setting, while emphasising its access to the heavens. I opted for large image banners to achieve this. The result is an airy, modern web design.
The colour scheme is based on that of the visual identity explained below, based on navy blue but tinted with green to add a touch of greenery. The gradient transparencies add a veil and a slight mystical distance to the visual composition.
